EXCAVATOR RODEO
Once again at ConExpo, LBX hosted the Link-Belt Excavator Rodeo, giving show attendees the opportunity to compete in an on-going contest to beat the 2008 Link-Belt National Rodeo Champion, Mark Foyse of West Bend, WI.
Shane Rhodehouse from Rhodehouse Construction in Rigby, ID won the 2011 LBX Link-Belt Excavator Rodeo. As winner, he took home a $2500 vacation package as well as the opportunity to represent LBX at the 2014 CONEXPO in Las Vegas as the Rodeo "Champ." He will appear in promotional materials for the company as well as appear at the 2014 show in daily performances.
This year's Rodeo utilized a new Link-Belt 250 X3 excavator, and Rhodehouse beat the best time of the 2008 Champ, Mark Foyse, by completing the Rodeo Challenge in just 8.59 seconds! Foyse's best time for the show was 11.09 seconds. An average rodeo time was more than one minute, a great testament to both Rhodehouse's and Foyse's skills in the cab of a Link-Belt excavator.

Rodeo participants were required to pick up a basketball that’s perched on a safety cone and place it into a plastic bucket without knocking over the cone or dropping the ball. The individual that completed this task in the quickest time during the show was the winner of the event.
There are a total of 3 basketballs sitting on 3 cones. Cones are placed in an arc approximately 15 feet in front of the machine and spaced approximately 8 feet between each other and the bucket. A referee timed each individual from a starting position to completion (return position).
Every participant received a free hat after they completed the event. Top 3 finishers each day won a Link-Belt Carhartt jacket for 1st place, a Link-Belt 210 X2 scale model for 2nd place and a Link-Belt denim shirt for 3rd place.
